About Charles L. Starr

An entrepreneur with experience across a number of industries, Charles L. Starr laid the foundation for his executive career in sales roles. Throughout the 1960s, Mr. Starr acted as Marketing Manager with Nestlé, Sales Manager with Helene Curtis Industries, and Sales Associate with Johnson and Johnson. The positions afforded him an understanding of how to navigate various markets and target disparate demographics. In 1967, he embarked on a 20-year career with H.P. Hood LLC as Vice President of Marketing. In two decades with the dairy group, Charles L. Starr sat at the helm of new product integration and played an active role in the placement of items, including reduced-fat milk and fruit/yogurt combinations, both of which rose to popularity among consumers.

In 1987, Charles L. Starr left H.P. Hood to leverage his experience into two companies of his own. As the President of USA Video Entertainment, Inc., until 1995, Mr. Starr built a prominent video game distribution venture. The company quickly expanded from its Massachusetts origins to gain a national presence. He simultaneously launched USA Blinds Factory, which underwent similar expansion and soon served clients across the country.

Charles L. Starr is a military veteran who served in the Korean War from 1950 to 1954. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where he also played football. Mr. Starr maintains affiliations with groups including United Way Disabled Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars. In his free time, he enjoys boating, gardening, and reading.
